Neat label printing and improving the CO2 balance at no extra cost? It’s possible! With the unique wax thermo transfer ribbons from the Bluhm Systeme product range featuring the innovative patented SolFree® reverse side coating. During the production of this foil, approx. 365 g less CO2 is released per roll than for other, similar ribbons*. Assuming an annual consumption of 6 000 rolls, this is equivalent to 17 000 kilometers by passenger car, or a return flight Frankfurt/New York, or the carbon footprint produced by a 2-person household in 3 months. With the newly developed SolFree® method, wax ribbons are for the first time produced without the use of solvents. But the original, perfect properties of the ribbons are retained: excellent printing quality, long shelf life and good sensitivity.

The foil’s improved reverse side SolFree® coating extends the service life of the printhead and contributes significantly to cost saving and waste reduction. The solvents used for coating of conventional ribbons may pose a health hazard if not handled correctly. Solvents furthermore accelerate global warming and are based on crude oil. Since SolFree® requires no solvents, this method is environmentally friendly, preserving raw fossil materials and thereby our health. Companies using SolFree® ribbons thus actively contribute to protecting the environment without paying a premium or forfeiting excellent printing quality.
